Man Allegedly Has Sex With Pit Bull On Front Lawn, Neighbors Beg Him To Stop

A Florida man has been accused of having sex with a pit bull in his front yard as neighbors plead with him to stop. The Florida man has been identified as 57-year-old Bernard Marsonek.

According to the Huffington Post, horrified neighbors flagged down Tampa Florida police with reports of a man, Marsonek, who was engaging in sexual acts with a pit bull on the front lawn of his home. The neighbors reportedly had begged Marsonek to stop the mistreatment of the pit bull, and when he ignored their pleas, neighbors began flagging the police down.

“When officers arrived on scene, they were greeted by a small crowd of residents who were disturbed by their neighbor’s activity with the dog,” a police spokeswoman explained. “Several of the witnesses stated that they yelled at the suspect to stop, but he ignored their commands.”

By the time police arrived on the scene, reports state that Marsonek had gone inside. According to My Fox Tampa Bay, police officers along with Hillsborough County Animal Services searched the man’s home and questioned him about his neighbor’s allegations.

During the search of Marsonek’s home, officers say they found a gun and ammunition, both of which he can’t legally own due to previous unidentified felony convictions according to the Huffington Post. Marsonek was reportedly arrested on felony charges of aggravated animal cruelty, two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm and a single count of sexual activity involving animals.

In an earlier report by The Inquisitr, an Idaho man was arrested after allegedly engaging in sexual acts with his pet cat. Ryan Havens Tannenholz, 28, was a self-identified “furry”, a person who likes to dress up as animals. Tannenholz was arrested for reportedly having sex with his pet cat on multiple occasions and was charged with six felony counts of crimes against nature and one misdemeanor count of cruelty to an animal.

In the case of Bernard Marsonek who allegedly had sex with a pit bull, reports state that he was released on a $17,500 bond while the allegations are investigated further. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, while the home was searched, a total of eight large pit bulls were found. Officials from Hillsborough County Animal Services reportedly took custody of all eight of the dogs.

Even though Marsonek was charged with felony charges of aggravated animal cruelty, do you believe that sexual activity with an animal should result in just a misdemeanor charge? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
