Anxiously Awaited Rift Patch 1.3 Set To Release

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 is the big day for exciting new MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game), Rift in that it marks the release of “Waves of Madness”, the patch that will introduce players to the new end game, 20 man, Hammerknell raid instance.

Also included in Rift Patch 1.3 will be needed changes to the different classes and plenty of new content for players of all levels.

Rift is a 3D fantasy-themed MMORPG from Trion Worlds Network that was released in March 2011. Rift has attracted hundreds of thousands of paying accounts in its four short months of life.

Players are able to join one of two factions, the Defiant and the Guardians, who are both fighting to save the world of Telara from the legions of Demon Lord Regulos.

Although they are both fighting for the same goals, the Defiant and the Guardians have become mortal enemies due to the different methods they use to achieve victory over Regulos. These differences are based on the ages old conflict of Religion against Science, waged between the god worshiping Guardians and the technologically advanced Defiant.

What sets Rift apart from other MMOS are the planar rifts that are a major feature of the game. Rifts of the six elements of life, death, air, water, fire and earth can spawn in an instant anywhere in the game world, unleashing hordes of monsters to ravage the inhabitants and environment of Telara. Players must defeat these creatures and close the rifts or more will spawn until an entire game zone is overrun by invaders. Towns and cities, large and small where players bought supplies and sought refuge yesterday might be completely destroyed and overrun the next time they log in to the game.

“Waves of Madness” will kick off with a major, in-game world event. The arch fiend Regulos will shatter the once peaceful world of Telara with a massive invasion of vile creatures. The focus of the invasion will be the zone known to players as “Moonshade Highlands”, where the Hammerknell Fortress is located. Players can reap substantial rewards by opposing Regulos and stopping his invading forces during the opening event.

Once they are able to stop the invasion, players will need to team up and enter the sealed gates of ancient Hammerknell to battle the risen minions of Regulos, who are lead by an all powerful Tidelord. Only the most skilled players will have a chance to survive and conquer the horrors that await them. Trion promises that players who are brave enough to take up the challenge will find that, “Ancient horrors, glittering prizes, and lasting fame await ….” Hammerknell boasts three massive wings, 10 new raid bosses and tons of new loot. Trion promises that “Waves of Madness” is only the beginning of the incredible content they plan to release in the months ahead to thrill and amaze their devoted players.
