UK’s Newquest may shut 11 papers


The United Kingdom’s Newsquest group may shut 11 newspapers due to increasing issues with debt and advertising revenue.

A review period to January 7 includes feedback from staff on redundancies and cost cutting measures that may save the papers.

Notably Newsquest is the UK arm of Gannett.
