The 2014 Ram 1500 has already made a lot of noise this year for its EcoDiesel model and four star safety rating. But a television commercial campaign that began a few year ago, now featuring Latin rocker Juanes, is set to push the truck over the top in an expanding market.
The highly anticipated 2014 Ram 1500 commercial shows off the music superstar and his band traveling from show to show. Displaying the power and capabilities of the 1500 pick up, Juanes and his band are able to effortlessly get from venue to venue. With his typical fast paced style and high energy performances, the 30 second spot shows off the Latin rocker as much as the truck.
This commercial features the song La Luz off his upcoming album Loco De Amor, scheduled for release on March 11, 2014. La Luz, meaning “The Lights” is set to the hard work that goes on when the lights go off. Dodge wants their image to be about hard work and getting dirty, so the television spot seeks to engage the audience in the unseen side of showbiz.
Part of the A Todo, Con Todo (to everything, with everything), the newest promotion of the 2014 Ram 1500 is intended to continue the work Dodge has put in towards marketing their trucks to a decidedly Latin context. “In key truck markets like Houston, Los Angeles and New York, the multicultural population is in fact the majority population,” Juan Torres, Head of Multicultural Advertising with the Chrysler Group, said in a press release. “Marketers must understand the lens through which multicultural consumers see brands; Ram Truck is telling a story that integrates cultural values and insight to connect emotionally with these consumers.”
The original 2014 Ram 1500 commercial featuring Juanes released last November and opens up the idea of a rockstar on the road needing some extra power.
The commercial will only show on Spanish speaking stations, like Univision and Telemundo. With their demand of 8,000 units going in the first three days, the Ram 1500 is making an aggressive move on a Ford dominated market. The 2013 Ram 1500 Super Bowl spot was one of the best loved commercials last year, showing off what the company’s marketing team is capable of.
The 2014 Ram 1500 commercial featuring Juanes and his hit song La Luz is business as usual for the motor company.
