Ellen DeGeneres can’t shake divorce rumors, and after the talk show host was spotted with a woman this week who is not her wife Porti de Rossi, those rumors kicked into high gear.
The couple has been plagued with marriage rumors for several weeks now, with rumors saying that their marriage is fizzling. Reports have said that Portia is growing tired of Ellen’s controlling ways, and that the Arrested Development actress was even spotted in public without her wedding ring.
But the latest report seem to hint toward even deeper problems. On Friday, Ellen DeGeneres was spotted having lunch in Hollywood with a mystery brunette. They ate in full view of paparazzi, leading some to believe that the act was intentional.
The celebrity rumor blog CelebDirtyLaundry noted:
“This photo op for the paparazzi was not an accident, but instead very purposeful. Ellen knew that she and her new friend would be photographed together and that Portia would see the snaps. She also knows better than to be seen with another woman alone, unless she wants people to talk.”
But there are still many doubts surrounding the Ellen DeGeneres divorce rumors. For one, Ellen herself has shot down the rumors , telling People magazine:
“The truth is, and this is corny, I fall more in love with Portia all the time. I really do. She surprises me all the time,” she continued. “It’s what anyone experiences when you find that person that gets you, wants to take care of you, wants the best for you. We’re really lucky because we know how rare it is.”
The Ellen DeGeneres divorce rumors also have some flimsy evidence to back them. As Justin Timberlake proved last year, meeting with a “mystery woman” proves nothing. After the Timberlake was spotted with someone reported as a “mystery blonde,” the singer/actor came out to admit that he was indeed having a night out with the woman — who happened to be his cousin .
