Tina Turner Didn’t Suffer Stroke Says Oprah Winfrey, She’s ‘Living Life’

Tina Turner is apparently “living life” and is completely fine, following rumors which surfaced in the press alleging she had suffered a stroke and could be dying.

According to Tina Turner’s close friend, Oprah Winfrey, the 74-year-old never suffered a stroke as was alleged, and was simply recovering from the flu.

Oprah took to Twitter to explain to the ever-eager press that Tina Turner, whose real name is Anne Mae Bullock, was alive and well at her apartment in Zurich, Switzerland.

Oprah clarified matters by Tweeting: “Tina had a bad flu weeks ago. She’s recovered. And LIVING life! Sent me a single long-stem red rose for my birthday.”

So how can we be so sure that Oprah is telling the truth? Well, she did fly out to see her old friend in Zurich over the summer and is known to be very close with her.

On a side note, during that European trip Oprah Winfrey had a nasty incident – which she considered to be racist – with a sales assistant at a store in Zurich. The assistant refused to show Oprah a handbag she had asked to see, claiming it was “too expensive” for her.

In her humility, Oprah left the store instead of causing a ruckus, saying that she was happy enough that the sales assistant wouldn’t be receiving any commission from her.

At the time Oprah said: “There’s two different ways to handle it. I could’ve had the whole blow-up thing…but [racism] still exists, of course it does.”

And then in her humorous vein, Oprah went ahead and joked about the incident on Twitter: “Turns out the store clerk did me a favor. Just found out that bag was #38K!!! She was right I was NOT going to buy it,” she wrote.

Either way, it is good to hear from Oprah Winfrey that her good old friend Tina Turner is just recovering from the flu, and hasn’t had a stroke as previously reported.
