Chrissy Teigen is featured in a steamy swimsuit picture alongside Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge on Sports Illustrated‘s 50th anniversary edition’s front cover.
The sexy image, which was unveiled on Thursday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live show on ABC, marks the 50th anniversary of the publication’s swimsuit issue and is certainly a fitting image for the occasion.
Lily Aldridge, who was interviewed on Thursday, said she was truly honored to have been selected by Sports Illustrated: “It’s the most incredible honor to be a Sports Illustrated cover model,” she said.
Chrissy Teigen was equally touched to have been selected for the front cover, even though the Victoria’s Secret model has featured in the publication five times before. Nevertheless, she expressed her surprise to reporters, saying: “It’s the ultimate surprise, and it’s the best feeling in the world right now.”
Most people agree that the 50th anniversary SI cover was tasteful, sexy and a great representation of how the well-known publication has evolved over the last half-century. The last time multiple models were featured together on an SI cover was back in 2006.
Chrissy Teigen revealed that, to her mind, the photo was selected due to the amazing chemistry between her and the other two models: “The smiles that you’re seeing are genuine. We had a good time, and it shows in the picture,” she said.
Lily Aldridge then revealed to the press that she thinks that being featured on the cover of SI will make her a household name: “Getting to be on the cover, we’re all going to be household names,” Aldridge said. “It’s incredible what it does for your career and where it can take you.”
Chrissy Teigen joked when she was asked what she intends to do next. She acknowledged the fact that it would have to be something pretty special to beat her latest honor: “Nothing is going to compare to this. This is pretty epic,” she said.
