Selena Gomez Thanks Fans For Support Following Stay In Rehab

Selena Gomez is the latest celebrity to enter rehab and even though she is just know talking about it, the word have been out for a while, but she is thanking her fans for their support and encouragement.

Celebrity and addiction seems to be a synonym, you can’t have one without the other and the former Disney star is the newest Hollywood member to surprise her fans with the admission that she entered rehab.

Up until now, Selena Gomez had an image of being the perfect girl, not including her on and off relationship with Justin Bieber — who has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

The actress/singer however, appeared to have escaped the general out-of-control lifestyle that inevitably rules the rich and famous, but it ain’t so.

Earlier in the year, Selena Gomez had a two-week stay in rehab and if the short period of the treatment makes you scratch your head a little, it’s because it wasn’t the full extent of her scheduled stay.

Last week, Selena’s reps revealed that indeed, the singer had been admitted to rehab at The Meadows Recovery center in Wickenburg, Arizona, for “emotional issues” and “partying” but denied she was there for substance abuse.

However, the website TMZ — which broke the story — is reporting the 21-year-old actually was in the facility to allegedly address alcohol, pot, and prescription Ambien abuse.

According to the site, Selena Gomez also bailed her treatment just 14-days into the six-week program, with the promise to return after she was done promoting her new film Rudderless at the Sundance Film Festival, but she said she had already been cured from her “issues.”

Gomez’s reps adamantly denied that the star had checked into rehab for alcohol and substance abuse, but she was trying to address emotional issues.

On Monday, Selena Gomez publicly thanked her fans for their support and posted what is a six-month old Instagram photo to go along with her message, which shows her holding a glass of…wine.

“I’ve done everything I could to the best of my ability. Thank you for the unconditional love and cyber hugs. You inspire me.”

In-Touch Weekly says that Selena’s good friend Demi Lovato — who herself has suffered from emotional problems and substance abuse — urged her to enter rehab.

The two were BFFs, but had a falling out a few years ago, which Selena Gomez admitted, had to do with Demi’s wild behavior at the time and she didn’t understand at the time.
