Taylor Swift is an anomaly in the world of pop music.
While her contemporaries are busy shedding their clothes for music videos and magazines, Taylor Swift isn’t too concerned about showing a ton of skin during every promotional opportunity. In fact, the singer said she finds it quite easy to stay robed.
Swift recently discussed her abilities during a recent conversation with the folks at Glamour magazine. Instead of using sex appeal to sell records , Taylor wants to focus on making strong music her fans can truly enjoy.
“For me, ‘risky’ is revealing what really happened in my life through music. Risky is writing confessional songs and telling the true story about a person with enough details so everyone knows who that person is,” Swift told the publication.
She added, “That’s putting myself out there, maybe even more than taking my shirt off… I find it relatively easy to keep my clothes on because I don’t really feel like taking them off.”
Taylor Swift also told the magazine how she deals with boyfriends who think they’ve gained the upper hand in the relationship. According to the singer, she fires back by employing a method she refers to as a “freeze out.”
“You don’t respond to any of his texts or calls until he does something desperate [like] shows up. Or he calls and leaves a voice mail. Something that makes it very clear to you that he’s interested,” she explained.
The singer continued, “I think everyone should approach relationships from the perspective of playing it straight and giving someone the benefit of the doubt. Until he establishes that this is a game. And if it’s a game, you need to win. The best thing to do is just walk away from the table.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time Swift has offered up some advice on love and happiness . Despite having mixed results in that department, the country music darling recent shared her thoughts on the subject with Top of the Pops magazine.
“There are no rules when it comes to love. I just try to let love surprise me, because you never know who you’re going to fall in love with. When I picture the person I want to end up with, I don’t think about what their career is, or what they look like. I picture the feeling I get when I’m with them,” she said.
