Karina Smirnoff, Brad Penny Set Official Wedding Date
Dancing with the Stars performer Karina Smirnoff and Detroit Tigers pitcher Brad Penny have finally announced an official wedding date, January 21st 2012.
The happy couple began dating in 2009 and got engaged in November of last year, hinting at a tropical destination wedding even back then. According to E!News, Smirnoff wasn’t lying as she revealed that the nuptials will take place in sunny Cozumel, Mexico.
“I have a lot of family and friends that live in Europe and Israel, and Brad has a big family in Oklahoma,” Smirnoff, told People magazine recently. “It’s going to be a very diverse, colorful crowd.”
Karina went on to reveal that she has narrowed her decision on wedding dresses down to a half dozen finalists.
“We’re down to six, which is better than 20,” the Dancing with the Stars pro told People magazine on Saturday at Tao Las Vegas. “You always have to look at the glass half full.”
All of the dresses,however, share one thing in common- a train.
“I want the train to be as long as Hollywood Boulevard because it’s like, you only get to wear it once,” she told E!News “I want it to be memorable. Like a princess.”
