Ke$ha: Anorexia Almost Killed Her, Was Bullied Over Weight

Ke$ha’s eating disorder battle over anorexia almost killed according to her mother, Pebe Sebert.

In a related story from The Inquisitr, Pebe also checked into the same Chicago-area rehab center as her daughter because she was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It was revealed that she feels Ke$ha might have started become bulimic because of her advisers, including producer Dr. Luke, who compared her looks to a refrigerator (we can’t make this stuff up):

“Dr. Luke had been telling her how she had to get in shape and lose weight and all this stuff. She was exercising and dieting and ultimately doing everything she could, but not getting thin fast enough. And that’s when she first became bulimic. After she went on a 14-day juice cleanse, he said, ‘Thank God you finally got rid of the weight! We’ve all been talking about it.’ So she felt like she couldn’t trust anyone.”

But worse things were said about David Sonenberg, who used to be Ke$ha’s manager:

“One time on a conference call, Sonenberg was screaming, ‘You need to lose weight! I don’t care what you do… take drugs, not eat, stick your finger down your throat! Ke$ha was just weeping. She drove around afterward thinking about killing herself.”

Of course, both Sonenberg and Dr. Luke officially denied this was the case and said it was “unfortunate” Pebe was making such claims while Ke$ha was suffering.

The family apparently became suspicious of how thin Ke$ha was getting and thought she might have a eating disorder. People would actually follow her into the bathrooms just to make sure she wasn’t vomiting up any food. But her mother says Ke$ha was “sneaky” and would bring a small bag with her so nobody could tell what was really going on. Finally, right before Christmas Ke$ha pulled over at a gas station to throw up after a dinner party and she decided enough was enough. She called her mother and admitted her fight with bulimia. For three days she was an emotional wreck, crying all the time, until they found the Timberline Knolls rehab center.

Now that Ke$ha has had some time to heal at rehab Pebe has revealed just how sick her daughter had become:

“I’ve watched my beautiful, self-confident, brilliant daughter be berated and ridiculed for her looks and weight to the point that she almost died. The doctors told me her blood pressure and sodium levels were so low, they’d never seen it that low except with someone who’d had a heart attack or stroke. They said it was a miracle she hadn’t already dropped dead on stage.”
