Juan Pablo Galavis: Gay Bachelor Would Be Too Perverted

Juan Pablo Galavis says bachelor gays don’t belong on the show, as that would be “too perverted.”

In a related report from The Inquisitr, the infamous quotes by the Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson are actually being defended by black Christians.

This time, it’s Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis’ comments on homosexuality that have many fuming. At an ABC party Friday, Juan Pablo spoke out against the possibility of a gay or bisexual Bachelor season:

“Obviously people have their husband and wife and kids and that is how we are brought up. Now there is fathers having kids and all that, and it is hard for me to understand that too in the sense of a household having peoples. Two parents sleeping in the same bed and the kid going into bed … It is confusing in a sense. But I respect them because they want to have kids. They want to be parents. So it is a scale … Where do you put it on the scale? Where is the thin line to cross or not? You have to respect everybody’s desires and way of living. But it would be too hard for TV.”

While Juan says he has plenty of gay friends, he claims homosexuals are “more pervert in a sense.” While making this comment he highlighted one of these friends who apparently was standing nearby, saying “he has his partner and I respect that 100 percent.” Still, he thinks there would be “too much backlash” if the Bachelor TV show were to focus on a LGBT episode, and it would be “too strong, too hard to watch on TV.” Of course, he also agreed the show was already over the top as it was and was close to a soap opera.

While ratings have been up recently for The Bachelor, one has to wonder how the rest of “Juan-uary” will go now, with no ability for Juan Pablo to even say he was misquoted because audio was captured of his personal thoughts. In fact, he did go on Facebook to claim his words were “taken out of context” and blames the phrasing on his poor English. The producers also released a statement that officially slapped their Bachelor on the wrist:

“Juan Pablo’s comments were careless, thoughtless and insensitive, and in no way reflect the views of the network, the show’s producers or studio.”

So what do you think, ready to sit down and watch some Bachelor?
