Chris Brown’s Probation Revoked, Rehab Progress Keeps Him Out Of Jail

Chris Brown had his probation revoked following assault charges in Washington D.C.

The troubled singer appeared in court on Monday for a progress hearing related to his 2009 assault conviction. Since Brown received a misdemeanor assault charge following an alleged scuffle with a photographer at a Washington hotel in October, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin believes he still isn’t playing by the rules.

According to the Contra Costa Times, Chris Brown ultimately had his probation revoked for his involvement in the altercation. However, the singer wasn’t immediately sent back to jail since Judge Brandlin was reportedly impressed with the progress Brown recently made during his stint in rehab.

However, Chris Brown isn’t completely out of trouble for the alleged Washington assault just yet. The Los Angeles Times reports that the singer is presently scheduled to appear in court to discuss the alleged assault on January 8.

In addition to revoking Brown’s probation and scheduling another progress hearing for February 10, Judge Branlin also ordered the singer to stop using medical marijuana. TMZ explains that Brown is currently off medical marijuana, and psychotropic drugs were recently employed to help him keep his temper under control.

Chris Brown enrolled in an anger treatment program after his arrest in Washington D.C. However, his treatment was cut short after he threw a rock at his mom’s car and was later kicked out of the program. He then began treatment at another facility.

In addition to his 90-day stint in rehab, the singer also has to complete 1,000 hours worth of community service and submit to regular drug tests. As for his behavior, Brown stated that he suffers from attention deficit disorder and struggles with depression.

Chris Brown’s problems don’t begin and end with the legal system. The singer is also the center of countless internet reports about his relationship with Rihanna and Karrueche Tran. Reports also suggest that he wants to mend the relationship with his mother, though the pair is allegedly having trouble seeing eye to eye.

A source recently told Hollywood Life:

“Joyce loves her boy and is not giving up on him. She comes from a position of power, she’s a proud black woman and she’s strong. She’s tough and Chris sometimes takes her motherly love as her coming down on him and telling him what to do. She wants him to get all the counseling and help he needs and she even did a few marriage and family therapy sessions with him.”

What do you think about Chris Brown getting his probation revoked for the second time this year? Do you think the singer will ever mend his ways?
