Demi Lovato To Leave the ‘X Factor’

For fans who love Demi Lovato, it’s bad news bears – you won’t be seeing her on a weekly basis on the X-Factor after this season closes its chapter. According to People magazine, the singer has decided to part ways with the show after she completes her two seasons as a judge.

The reason for her apparent departure is because the recording artist actually wants to release new music for 2014. According to a source, Lovato plans to spend next year completely focused on her music. “She had a great run and a good time.”

In addition to her X Factor gig, Lovato is also currently on Glee playing Dani, Santana’s love interest and band mate. Lovato joined the new season of the show. When the announcement was made that Lovato was joining the Fox musical, she said, “I didn’t think I’d be acting so soon, but I’m really, really glad that this came along, and I’m just happy to be acting again.”

Lovato of course got her start on the Disney Channel, like many of her peers. Her show was called Sonny with a Chance, which only lasted for a season, and before that she was on another short lived series called As the Bell Rings. Although neither show was too successful, they were enough to launch Lovato as a star. Prior to that, she was on Barney & Friends. Lovato’s exposure rose to new heights when she appeared alongside the Jonas Brothers in the Camp Rock film.

Earlier in the year, Lovato spoke about where her priorities are now that she has picked up a job in acting, in addition to her appearance on the X Factor. “I think ultimately my main thing is singing. Maybe movies once in a while, if the right role comes along,” she said.

She continued:

“I want to vacation! I want to watch crime shows on my DVR on my couch. I need to do some exercising and I don’t really have time to do it. I love horseback riding and never get to do that stuff, but January is my time to do all of that.”

Demi’s departure from the X Factor shouldn’t come as a huge shock. Just the other day, Simon Cowell revealed that a few change ups were coming for next year. As ratings have been steadily on the decline, Cowell said that next season will have a few tweaks.
