Victoria’s Secret $10 Million Fantasy Bra Rocked By Candice Swanepoel At Annual Fashion Show

The Victoria’s Secret $10 million Fantasy Bra was the talk of the annual Fashion Show on Tuesday after model Candice Swanepoel rocked the diamond and jewel-encrusted undergarment.

Swanepoel had the honor of wearing the Fantasy Bra at the 2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the latest in a tradition of very pricey lingerie. In past fashion shows, equally expensive bras have been worn by other Angels including Tyra Banks, Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima, and Miranda Kerr.

Stylight noted the evolution of the Fantasy Bra:

“This piece of lingerie is the most anticipated piece and the talking point of each show, as its brilliant gemstones wow millions of viewers all over the world. In 1996 Claudia Schiffer debuted the fantasy bra, or what is now known as the million dollar bra. It’s getting more extravagant every year, as the jewelers create pieces from our wildest dreams.”

This year’s Fantasy Bra was designed by Mouawad and featured more than 4,000 precious gems carefully embedded into the 18-carat gold lining.

Swanepoel said just putting on the Fantasy Bra was a big to-do.

“I’ve never worn anything this pricey, and we have to put gloves on when we put it on… It’s kind of a big ordeal. she said. “The bra comes with two bodyguards and we have to handle it with a lot of care! They had to mold my body to be able to make [the bra], and I was really excited. I tried to imagine after they’d done the mold, how would they make it, how it would look. My imagination didn’t do it justice. My favorite part is this beautiful 52-carat pear-shaped ruby. Every part of it is exquisite.”
