Keira Knightley knows how to get the most out of her wedding dress.
The actress showed up to a red carpet event this week wearing a strapless, powder pink Chanel Haute Couture dress, the same one she had on when she got married last May. She had actually worn the dress several years before her wedding, modeling the look at the Finch & Partners’ pre-BAFTA party back in 2008.
But Keira Knightley found a way to give the old dress some new life. The very first time she wore it, Keira paired it with black tights and matching pumps, but when she got married, she wore it with a Chanel blazer.
Her look this week included a long-sleeved shirt and an embroidered neckline.
Keira may have wanted to stir memories of her intimate wedding to Klaxons keyboard player James Righton. The Pirates of the Caribbean actress got married in the south of France, close to where the Knightley family has owned a home for the past three years.
The town where they live, Mazon, is said to be something of a refuge. Though most of the people in the town know Keira and her family, the famous family is able to live quietly without being bothered.
The wedding ceremony played out before only 12 guests and took place in the town hall. The couple said their vows in both French and English, and afterward drove off in a silver Renault Clio for a party at the $4 million Knightley mansion,
The reception was slightly bigger, with 50 guests coming to the home and Righton’s band providing the entertainment.
It was quite a posh location for the wedding, a report noted at the time, with 120 bottles of red and white wine on hand in the mansion.
