Deborah Smith: Fired For Witnessing Hilton Management Orgy

The Hilton Hotel Chain is being sued for harassment by orgy, and this story doesn’t even have anything to do with Paris. Deborah Smith, a former manager of the Skywater restaurant at the Hilton Minneapolis allegedly walked in on upper management having an orgy has filed a lawsuit. The Skywater Restaurant is allegedly classy.

According to the complaint, Smith a 43 year old resident of Coon Rapids, opened a door to a banquet room at the Hilton where “she discovered an orgy” with “various Hilton executives inebriated and engaging in sexual acts.” It will make guests at the Hilton Minneapolis think twice.

You can read the full complaint here.

The suit says

“In fact, she observed Hilton executives on top of a table engaging in sexual activity,”.

The suit also alleges that after Smith walked away from the orgy SkyWater beverage manager James Vennewitz allegedly told her “she would be fired, and he would make sure of it.”

She complained about the orgy to human resources but “a campaign of harassment and retaliation ensued,” culminating in her termination on Dec. 19, 2007.

So how much does Smith want for the harassment she endured? More than $50,000.

Law site Onpoint says Deborah Smith’s case may be the first to allege harassment by orgy, testing … whether a single incident of group sex amounts to “sufficiently severe or pervasive” sexual harassment.”

Right this is legal speak for – if she wasn’t invited to join in is it harassment? At the very least surely its a violation of hygiene laws.

Apparently there is also a second related case, where an employee was requested to join in and has also sued for harassment.

It must be something in the water out that way, what with the Feldman/Walsh Iowa Metropole toilet sex hijinks.
