Jennifer Lawrence, star of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, sure raised the temperature (and some pulses, no doubt) with the dress she wore to the L.A. premiere of the film Monday night.
Last night, Jennifer’s sheer ensemble, coupled with her new pixie coif, gave her a kind of elegant punk rock chic, very much evocative of the fashion of the dystopian world her character inhabits. It begged the question: is it hot in here or is it just Jennifer Lawrence (hint: it’s Jennifer Lawrence)?
The fiery starlet opted for a belted, see-through ball gown over a black bodice, offering plenty of color contrast. Speaking of contrast, it was certainly a different look from the outfit Jennifer Lawrence rocked a year and a half ago at the first film’s premiere. According to Just Jared, the dress is a Dior Haute Couture. Entertainment Weekly wonders if Jennifer’s dress, a potential fashion risk, is “couture or cray-cray.”
Director Francis Lawrence (no relation), described Jennifer as “a good girl” and says there’s no secret about how she stays grounded with her star on the rise.
“Good family. Good genes,” the other Lawrence said via USA Today. “Who she is, the way she was raised.”
Jennifer skipped out on the after party because she felt a little under the weather, but that didn’t stop those in attendance from celebrating.
“I don’t know how Jen deals with all this. She does it so beautifully. She is freakishly authentic,” said Lawrence’s co-star Jeffery Wright.
“Jennifer is genuine and was part of my family from day one,” said crossover star Lenny Kravitz, who portrays Cinna, Katniss’ stylist and confidant.
After seeing Jennifer’s sheer outfit at the premiere, E! Online just couldn’t help but compare it to Kristen Stewart’s equally transparent ensemble at the premiere of the final Twilight movie. And comparison led to competition, prompting the question, “who wore the best sheer dress, Jennifer Lawrence or Stewart?” Feel free to cast your vote at The Trend.
