Bruce Jenner may be splitting with his wife of 22 years, but that doesn’t mean he’s given up on her or the rest of his family.
As an event this week in Los Angeles, the 64-year-old Olympic gold-medalist turned reality television star said he still gets along great with Kris Jenner.
“She supports me. I see her every day. We’re doing absolutely great,” Jenner said at the Legendary Athletes Award at the All Sports Film Festival in Los Angeles via People magazine.
Bruce Jenner and Kris Jenner announced in October that they had separated.
The situation has brought even more attention to a family that is a frequent subject for tabloids. Bruce said it can sometimes get to him.
“Sometimes it’s very difficult,” he said. “Sometimes they’ll take some really, really tough shots at the family when they’re not deserved and totally false, especially with my kids. I don’t care what they say about me, but when they start ragging on my kids for things that they’re not doing and totally misrepresenting them, that really, really bothers me to say the least.”
Reports say that Bruce has actually grown closer to his family since the split, especially son-in-law Lamar Odom. According to TMZ , Bruce has offered a man’s perspective and a bit of counseling to Lamar as he battles relationship issues with his wife Khloe Kardashian.
Bruce has been blunt with Lamar as well.
“Everybody’s got s–t in their life, and they need to learn how to deal with it,” Jenner allegedly told to a pal. “Lamar didn’t deal with his very well.”
Bruce Jenner still plays an important role in his daughters’ lives as well. Last month TMZ reported that he would be walking daughter Kim down the aisle at her wedding to :
“Kim considers Bruce to be her dad, and she always planned on having him give her away…. just like he did when she married Kris Humphries,” the report noted.
The report went on to say that Kim doesn’t care if Bruce Jenner and her mother are together or not, she considers her step-father very important to her.
