‘Batman vs. Superman’: ‘Girls’ Star Adam Driver In Talks For Nightwing

Batman vs. Superman producers may have found the Caped Crusader’s sidekick.

Although Warner Bros. has yet to confirm the rumor, it’s believed that Girls star Adam Driver is in talks to star as Dick Grayson in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel. Although Grayson starts out as Robin, he eventually becomes the superhero known as Nightwing.

According to the folks over at The Wrap, Driver isn’t the only person who’s in the running for the coveted role in Batman vs. Superman. A source told the website that two other actors are also being eyed for the part. However, it’s unclear who they are at the moment.

Moviegoers may not know Adam Driver by name, but he’s certainly leaving his mark on Hollywood. Not only did he work with the Coen brothers on their drama Inside Llewyn Davis, he also appeared in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln and Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar.

Worst Previews explains that Nightwing returns to aid the Dark Knight in his fight against the Man of Steel in Batman vs. Superman. The characters are reportedly estranged when the film opens, though they apparently work out their differences as the story progresses.

As always, it’s best to approach these reports with extreme caution. Since internet rumors are a dangerous thing to put stock into these days — just ask any Bruce Campbell fan — it’s best to keep your excitement under control until someone officially announces Driver’s possible involvement with Snyder’s sequel.

This isn’t the only Batman vs. Superman rumor that’s making the round these days. The Inquisitr previously reported that Warner Bros. is currently looking for someone to tackle the role of Wonder Woman in the forthcoming follow-up. If these reports are true, then this flick is practically stuffed to the rafters with iconic superheroes.

A recent report from Schmoes Know suggests Oblivion and Max Payne star Olga Kurylenko recently tested for the part not too long ago. Again, neither the studio nor the director confirmed the character’s appearance in the sequel.

Of course, she isn’t the only actress who is reportedly in the running for the role of Wonder Woman. A few other individuals were also approached by Snyder and executive producers, though it’s currently unknown who they are. Given the popularity of movie rumors these days, it’s probably only a matter of time before their identities emerge.

Ben Affleck is currently slated to play Batman in the sequel, a character who will square off against Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel. If all goes according to the studio’s plan, then the follow-up should hit theaters around the world in 2015.
