Popular Lean Cuisine spaghetti variety recalled for plastic bits

Nestle is recalling all remaining stock of a lot of Lean Cuisine’s Simple Favorites Spaghetti with Meatballs variety after customer complaints led to the discovery of red plastic bits in the meatball portion of the product.

The affected dinners all seem to have been produced during a one-hour period this past October. Nestle says that it’s likely very little of the stock remains on shelves, but advises consumers on how to determine which varieties are affected:

…due to its popularity, Nestle believes very little remains in retail distribution. For this reason, Nestle is reaching out to consumers to ask that they examine their freezer inventory for specific packages of LEAN CUISINE® Simple Favorites Spaghetti with Meatballs, UPC 13800-10390, which would carry the production code 0298595519 P. To locate the production code, consumers should look for the gray “proof of purchase” panel, located on the right end flap of the package, below the ingredient statement.

Customers have been asked to call a support line at (866) 606-8264 or to email leancuisine@casupport.com for a replacement coupon. The company may seek to retrieve affected product to examine the contamination. No injuries have been reported in relation to the recall.
