Parent’s Personal Note To Pumpkin Thief: ‘Thanks A**Hole’

A parent whose young son’s pumpkin was stolen from outside of the family’s house left the most epic message to the random thief ever: “You’re an a**hole.”

The homeowner posted a message, written on cardboard with a felt pen, in the spot where the pumpkin once was before it was snatched by an unknown troll. The writer first thanks the thief (albeit, sarcastically) for giving him an opportunity to teach his son a “life lesson” about how awful people can be.

“This will help teach him (my son) that sometimes people are mean for no reason and you just have to brush it off,” the missive read.

At the very end, the angry parent signed off, hilariously:

“Because my son is two years old and cannot read this sign, I will add: You are an a**hole.”

The photo has since gone viral on reddit and other image-sharing websites, where dozens of Internet users offered everything from advice (to prevent future thefts) to sarcastic commentary.

One reddit user suggested that a local or nearby neighbor was likely responsible for the theft.

“It’s probably someone in the area. Seriously, who drives across town to steal a pumpkin?”

Another user sarcastically cast doubt on the likelihood of the pumpkin thief returning to read the message.

“This is clever because studies have shown that when people steal things, they typically return to the scene of the crime to read signs posted in an attempt to berate them,” the user wrote.

Well, we think it’s funny.
