Man Chops Off 10-Year-Old Boy’s Hand, Then Boils It So Cannot Be Reattached

A 10-year-old Chinese boy named Xiao Jun, had his hand cut off with meat cleaver by his mother’s boyfriend.

The man, Cheng Sun, then threw the severed limb into a pot of boiling water to ensure that surgeons would not be able to reattach it.

The reason for the attack appears to be a dispute about money. Before the enforced amputation, Cheng Sun beat the boy with a stick, then grabbed a meat cleaver and cut of the boy’s right hand. The incident took place in China in Shenyang, Liaoning province.

Surprisingly, after he calmed down and realised what he had done, Cheng called the police and reported what had happened.

Xiao was taken to hospital but surgeons could not reattach the hand because it had swelled up so badly in the boiling water. The boy is said to be in a stable condition in hospital following surgery. Eventually, once he recovers, he will have to be fitted with an artificial arm.

The Daily Mirror, which broke the story, reported that Cheng met the boy’s mother, Xiao Shen, last year and they were planning to buy a flat together. The couple and the boy were living in a rented apartment while they searched for a new home.

When the attack allegedly took place, Xiao’s mother, who is pregnant, was away visiting family trying to borrow some money to help pay for the new home,. The couple allegedly had an argument over the phone when Shen rang to say there had been a delay. It was following this row, that Cheng is said to have lashed out at the boy.

Xiao said from his hospital bed,” I always thought he would really be a good dad to me, I liked him. Now everything is ruined. I don’t know why he did this, he just seemed to become someone else.”

Cheng has been arrested by police, but there is no information about when, and with which offence, he will be charged.
