A quick thinking 10-year-old boy from New York protected his family Monday night by picking up an intruder’s gun and firing it at the wall .

It all started when two men, dressed as delivery men, knocked on the door of the Brooklyn home. The men pushed past the two teenager girls who answered the door and headed upstairs. When they tried to get into one of the bedrooms, the owner of the home shut the door on one of the men’s arms.

The intruder dropped his gun and the owner’s young son picked it up and fired it at the wall. One of the suspects fired back, but no one was injured. The brave boy’s shot was enough to scare the intruders away without taking anything from the home.

The family was still quite traumatized by the event on Tuesday. There was even a handwritten note posted on the door that requested reporters to not ask for interviews and to respect the family members.

Onika Rogers, a neighbor in the area, admitted that she was shocked about the break-in because the block has always been so peaceful and quiet. She said that the incident made her worry about her own three children. Rogers also referred to the 10-year-old as a “brave little boy.”

Just last month, another brave little boy made news for saving his family from home invaders. When Jaden Kanka,9, overhead the intruders talking to his mom and her boyfriend in the living room, he jumped out of his bedroom window and ran to a neighbor’s house. The neighbors called the police, who arrived to the house while the intruders were still there.

Jaden said that while he was a little scared and shaky, he still stayed calm. He also admitted that he thought of himself as a hero.
