‘Teen Mom’ Amber charged with 3 felonies for attacking babydaddy on TV

Teen Mom‘s Amber Portwood, 20, has been charged with three class D felonies in Indiana for physically assaulting the father of her child during a segment of the show.

RadarOnline outlines the charges against Portwood for attacking Gary Shirley:

Portwood, 20, was formally charged by the Madison County Prosecutor’s office with three Class D felonies– 2 counts of domestic battery and one count of Neglect of a Dependent – as well as one misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.

Last month, in a statement about Portwood’s legal difficulties, MTV commented:

“We are cooperating with all parties and hope for a quick and fair resolution that allows everyone involved to move forward in a positive manner.”

Portwood and Shirley’s daughter Leah was made a ward of the state in late November due to the televised altercation between her parents, but she remains in custody of her father pending a hearing to determine custody. Portwood faces five years in jail and $10,000 in fines if convicted on the charges.
