Monica Bellucci Divorce: Actress Says Split From Vincent Cassel Was A ‘Mutual Agreement’

Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel have decided to go their separate ways.

The Inquisitr reported earlier that the two actors have been together for nearly two decades but announced today that they were getting divorced. A rep for the stars said that the decision to separate was a “mutual agreement.”

Cassel’s spokesman said: “Vincent Cassel confirms that he has agreed to separate from his wife Monica Bellucci.”

Bellucci and Cassel met on the set of Gilles Mimouni’s film ‘l’Appartement’ in 1996. They were married a few years later and now have two daughters, 7-year-old Deva and 3-year-old Leonie, together.

The Daily Mail notes that Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel only recently announced their divorce but the couple has been living separately for years. Cassel spends most of his time in Paris while Bellucci lives in Rome.

The announcement may have shocked some fans today but Bellucci has hinted at the split in the past. The actress said: “Marriage, we never know how long it will last…Today, it works, but in a year, I don’t know.”

This is the second time that Monica Bellucci’s marriage has ended in divorce. She was previously married to photographer Claudio Basso. They divorced in 1994.

Are you surprised that Bellucci and Cassel are getting divorced?

Belluci, who is best known in the United States for her role in The Matrix trilogy, is currently working on a new movie called On The Milky Road. Cassel, who starred in Black Swan, will next be seen in the movie Beauty And The Beast.
