'Injustice Gods Among Us' lands Zatanna history trailer

‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’: Zatanna Character History Trailer Drops [Video]

Injustice: Gods Among Us has landed a character history trailer for Zatanna.

Just when you thought it was safe to fight crime in the DC Universe, the creators of the Mortal Kombat reboot have hit us once again with another DLC character in Zatanna, the magician.

For $4.99, Zatanna will join the cast and add a new Cyborg Superman skin, as previously reported by The Inquisitr. She joins the cast which already includes Superman, Batman, Catwoman, Batgirl, General Zod, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Black Adam, Lobo, and the possibly soon to be announced Red Hood. Of course one of the most surprising additions to the roster included Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is known for its interactive environments and surprise cameos including Darkseid, all while adding new DLC characters on a regular basis.

The Zatanna character trailer begins with her appearing in a haze of hocus pocus and saying, “Prepare to be astounded.”

The narrator introduces Zatanna:

“The line between alter ego and superhero has always been a blurry one for Zatanna Zatara. When she’s not fighting demonic creatures alongside the ranks of the Justice League, this second generation magician is traveling the world with her one-woman magic show. A master of escapes and slight-of-hand trickery, Zatanna also possesses the power of true magic with special incantations, primarily using words pronounced backwards. Zatanna is the go-to master of dark arts for the entire DC Universe.”

We see comic book images and in-game footage of the latest addition to Injustice: Gods Among Us, showing a woman who appears rather attractive, and has a distinct mastery of magic seemingly hidden in plain sight by her stage-magician attire.

The narrator continues:

“During 2004’s Identity Crisis, Zatanna, then a member of the Justice League, was revealed to have wiped the mind of not only villainous murderer Dr. Light, but Batman as well. This act of blatant mind control sparked a rift between the members of the Justice League, resulting in Zatanna’s eventual loss of confidence and powers. While her powers ultimately returned, Zatanna’s shame for what she did never disappeared.”
