Anand Jon found guilty of rape, sexual assault

Celebrity fashion designer Anand Jon has been found guilty by a Los Angeles Court 16 counts of rape, possession of child pornography and other sex charges.

The crimes included lewd acts on a child, rape and sexual battery between 2001 and 2007 against nine models aspirants aged between 14 and 21. According to Reuters, prosecutors said Jon lured girls and women to Los Angeles with the promise they could work as models and then attacked them.

As well as an appearance on America’s Next Top Model, Anand Jon’s clothes had been modeled by and designed for celebrities including Paris Hilton, Rosario Dawson, Lawrence Fishburn, Gina Torres, Oprah Winfrey, and Janet Jackson.

Anand Jon’d Defense attorney Leonard Levine plans to appeal. Anand Jon will have to serve 67 years of a life sentence before being eligible for parole.
