Prison Guard Impregnated By Inmate To Plead Guilty

An ex-prison guard, who was impregnated by inmate Ronell Wilson, is scheduled to plead guilty Monday.

Nancy Gonzalez will face up to 15 years in prison. However, she might convince the judge not to give her any jail time if she cites a prior history of being abused as a child and molested while serving in the military.

Gonzalez submitted a DNA test a couple of weeks ago that confirmed Wilson is the father of her baby boy, who she gave birth to in March.

The ex-prison guard, who was impregnated by the inmate, was arrested in February after she was caught having sex with Wilson at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

The test results might actually help Wilson’s case. He is facing the death penalty or life in prison without parole for murdering undercover NYPD Detectives Rodney Andrews and James Nemorin. Wilson was sentenced to death by a jury in 2007, but the penalty was overturned because of a prosecutor error.

At Wilson’s resentencing, prosecutors could argue that impregnating the prison guard proves that he is manipulative and dangerous. Defense attorneys, on the other hand, can beg the jury not to execute him because he is now a father.

Gonzalez told a federal judge that she does not mind that the test results will be provided to Wilson’s defense team for his upcoming resentencing.

“He’s the father of my son and I do want him to live,” she said.

Defense attorneys will also use Wilson’s horrible childhood as a mitigating factor in a bid for life in prison instead of a death sentence.

What do you think of the ex-prison guard who was impregnated by an inmate? Do you think she deserves prison time? Or do you believe her sentence should be suspended so that she can be with her son?
