‘World Of Tanks’ Xbox 360 Edition Confirmed At E3

World of Tanks is coming to the Xbox 360. The popular multi-player game was confirmed just in time for E3 2013. Chicago’s Wargaming West stepped outside of the Xbox One and Playstation 4 realm to announce that its new version would arrive under the name World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition.

If you haven’t picked up the uber-popular game, it basically entails driving around and commanding WWII-period armored vehicles. Gamers control everything from smaller scout tanks to large-caliber indirect-fire artillery.

World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition borrows heavily from other MMO games to create a first person shooter that relies more on tactical battles than anything else.

The game has been popular among a certain faction of loyal users who like to team up in loyalty rich clans as they battle it out across various maps and multiple fronts.

An open beta for World of Tanks is scheduled for E3 and in that demo gamers will be able to try out both American and German tanks. Also available upon full release will be British tanks. The beta will then be scaled for Xbox Live Marketplace inclusion in late 2013.

Developer Wargaming West has also announced an expansion called “The Russian Invasion,” which will bring the Red Army into the mix.

The closed beta for World of Tanks started in early 2013. The company was so excited for the World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition that they had closed beta testers visit their Chicago studio in mid-May.

A current report suggests that the Xbox 360 version will not be attached to the PC title. The Chicago gaming firm apparently believes its PC users and Xbox 360 users are different user bases who would not play well together. Apparently Wargaming West feels that World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition can stand on its own two feet thanks to the already massive size of the Xbox Live Marketplace registered users base.
