U.S. Government Buys First 100 Pre-Production Chevy Volts [Rumor]

The Chevy Volt has been the companies most highly touted “green” vehicle for over a year now and the first production milestone is also finally behind them.

The U.S. government has reportedly put in an order for 100 Chevy Volts, the first pre-production models to roll off the Hamtramck assembly line and a rousing show of support for the companies newest high mileage car.

While reports continue to circulate about the deal GM released the following statement:

“[GM is] pleased to see that the Federal government is interested in the greening of their vehicle fleet,” adding that they have “no further details regarding these purchases.”
