Slain Kids’ Parents Expecting Baby After NYC Murders

Marina and Kevin Krim, the parents whose two children were killed in a brutal attack for which their nanny was charged, are expecting a baby this year.

The Krim family made international headlines after the horrifying incident was reported back in October. The parents of the slain kids have one surviving child, who was not at home when the murders occurred.

The Krims announced their joyful news over on their Facebook page, Lulu & Leo Fund. The page, with more than 25,000 fans, is dedicated to the memory of Lulu Krim, six, and brother Leo, two, who were found dead in the family’s New York City apartment last year.

Nessie Krim was with mother Marina when they stumbled upon the horrifying scene, and in the Facebook update, the expectant parents explain their surviving daughter is thrilled to meet her new brother:

“Nessie can’t wait to welcome her baby brother … We are filled with many emotions as we look to the future, but the most important one is hope. We are very grateful to you all for your amazing support.”

In an earlier post, Marina Krim explains part of her struggle in coping with the deaths of Leo and Lulu without the comfort of religion, saying:

“I accepted that Lulu and Leo’s physical presences were no longer with me and I needed to learn to connect with their spiritual presence. I needed to use my 5 senses ‘outside the box’ to connect with Lulu and Leo. Once I started to do that, little everyday things began to take on new meaning. This was the beginning of my lifelong scavenger hunt — clues that my Lulu and Leo were leaving me to find.”

After the slain kids deaths were investigated, nanny Yoselyn Ortega, 50, was charged in their murders.

The slain kids’ parents did not announce a due date for the new baby. You can visit their Facebook page and leave congratulatory comments on their announcement post here.
