Rock princess Kelly Osborne’s weight loss secret is part of a new Hollywood trend — and sounds a lot more fun than Spin, Zumba, and other gym fads.

Kelly Osbourne kept off a stunning 70 pounds in a recent effort to maintain weight loss, and she did it with Hoopnotica, a toning working that relies on the age-old backyard plaything, the hula hoop.

Osbourne lost weight back in 2009 and has managed to prevent a return to her former, larger size. Kelly credits “hooping” as a way to stay fit in a fun way, using the Hoopnotica system to tone arms, legs, glutes and abs with a hula hoop.

Kelly Osbourne starting hooping for weight loss to prep for The Oscars, and she says that the exercise trend has been super fun for the star and friends.

Kelly said in a Self magazine interview:

“I have a Hoopnotica hula hoop. I use it every day, and it’s made my back and arms stronger, and my waist has gone down 2 inches! On Saturday nights my friends and I put on ridiculous outfits and hula-hoop and dance when everyone else is at ‘da club.’ ”

“We call it #HipHopAnonymous. Adam Lambert is in it. We live in the same building, and random people show up. The next morning you’re like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m so sore,’ but you had the best night ever.”

According to Yahoo, Osbourne isn’t alone in her love for Hoopnotica. The site says First Lady Michelle Obama, Catherine Zeta Jones, Jason Mraz, and Beyonce all dig on the hula hooping trend, burning nearly 500 calories in just an hour of hooping — comparable to less fun exercise regimes like a standard aerobic workout.
