Suri Cruise Celebrates 7th Birthday Early With Tom

Suri Cruise got an early birthday party from her dad, Tom Cruise.

The youngster, who actually turns 7 on Thursday, got to spend some time with her globetrotting dad ahead of her big day. The 50-year-old actor has been traveling a lot recently to promote his new movie, Oblivion, but made sure to make it back home to celebrate Suri’s birthday.

When asked how he was going to help Suri Cruise celebrate, Tom said he already had.

“Done already. All done. I take care of the kids early. You’ll know, you have to plan ahead for these things. It’s all done and all celebrated.”

Tom Cruise added that her early celebration included plenty of sweets.

“I’ll eat cake, cupcakes,” he said. “I eat all that stuff!”

Tom, who is normally private about his family time since his divorce from Katie Holmes, had spoken last week about not pushing Suri into acting.

Tom Cruise said any of his kids — including the two he adopted with then-wife Nicole Kidman — can go into show business if they choose, but he isn’t going to force anything on them.

“All my kids [can get into acting],” he said. “What I do is try to find out what they’re interested in and support them in that. There’s no pressure. I’m lucky. I love what I do. I think with them, it’s just find out what you want to do and support it.”

Tom Cruise noted that the movie industry is very demanding, and he’s kept a strict workout regimen so he could have a shirtless scene in Oblivion.

“I’ve trained my whole life,” he told reporters. “I don’t sleep that much. Some of those days [on set] it was like an hour, two hours’ sleep. You just go hard.”

Suri Cruise will be spending her actual 7th birthday with her mom, Katie Holmes.
