Selena Gomez Visits ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ [Photos]

Selena Gomez was spotted outside of the Ed Sullivan Theater prior to her appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman on Monday (March 18).

The singer and actress visited the late-night chat show to discuss her new film Spring Breakers. The movie finds the Wizards of Waverly Place star playing the role of a misguided teenager who gets in serious trouble during spring break.

Prior to heading inside for her interview with Letterman, Selena Gomez took a moment to pose for photographers on a sidewalk in New York City. Images from her appearance can be found in the gallery embedded below.

Directed by Kids scribe Harmony Korine, Spring Breakers follows four bikini-clad girls who embark on a crime spree with a thug named Alien. Gomez shares the screen with James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine.

The movie is certainly much different than the projects Selena Gomez has tackled in the past. Although she was initially hesitant to tackle the role of Faith in Korine’s crime drama, the actress revealed her mom convinced her to take the role.

“Well, my mom is actually a big Harmony Korine fan, and we got the script through my agency. I read it, I watched all of his movies with my mom and [watched] interviews, and I wanted to be a part of it,” she said during an interview with MTV News.

Selena Gomez has a number of projects currently looming on the horizon. The actress will make a cameo in director Nicolas Lopez’s forthcoming horror-thriller Aftershock. The film explores what happens to a group of people after a devastating earthquake lays waste to Chile.

The actress recently reprised her role as Alex Russo in the made-for-TV movie The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex. The flick drew in approximately six million viewers when it debuted on the Disney Channel last Friday (March 15).

Gomez recently finished work on the upcoming comedy Behaving Badly with Elisabeth Shue and the action flick Getaway co-starring Ethan Hawke.
