Edward Norton Joins Cast Of ‘Birdman’ Movie

Edward Norton has been signed on to star in the dark comedy Bird Man. The movie is being directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu and is being presented by Fox Searchlight Films. Norton is joining what has quickly become an all-star cast.

Micheal Keaton, Emma Stone, Noami Watts, and Zach Galifianakis are also slated to be in the picture. The movie is expected to begin shooting by the middle of next month.

Edward Norton has certainly had a mixed bag of movie roles over the last few years. He once starred in a movie that continued the Hannibal Lecter series and that character is now being immortalized on television (though by another actor).

He also was one of now three different actors that has portrayed the alter ego to Marvel’s Hulk, Bruce Banner. Interestingly, Banner is yet another character that is being continued but has a different actor in the role these days.

In Birdman, Michael Keaton will play a former actor who once portrayed a super hero known as Birdman. Keaton’s character is trying to put together a Broadway play based on a script written by Jonathan Carver but he’s finding it difficult to work with the play’s leading man.

Edward Norton will play that leading man. This movie will be a departure for director Iñárritu who up until now has only been at the helm of heavy dramas. His most famous films include 21 Grams and Babel. Norton is often considered someone who focuses on dramas as well, though his actual resume lists plenty of comedies and action movies.

Norton just appeared in Moonrise Kingdom and is finishing production on the Grand Budapest Hotel. Along with The Hulk, Norton has starred in big time action flicks like TheBourne Legacy and The Italian Job.
