Katie Holmes‘ Blizzard Nemo experience – if it’s any comfort to those caught in the storm – is not going very smoothly either.
Blizzard Nemo is shaping up to be one of the fiercest snowstorms in a century, and a Katie Holmes fashion presentation was one of its latest victims.
The 34-year-old actress was forced to cancel a high-level fashion show after the school attended by daughter Suri closed early on Friday. Holmes, ever the dutiful mother, had to rush to Suri’s school to pick her daughter up.
Prior to the arrival of Blizzard Nemo, Holmes was due to show off her new fashion line alongside designer and stylist Jeanne Yang. People reports how the star spent Thursday “kicking off her heels with fashion editors in a New York City hotel suite to present the latest elegant collection.” By the sounds of it, Friday was rather less relaxed.
As a mother of twin girls herself, we’re sure Yang related to Holmes’ plight – as can thousands of other Americans currently in the path of Blizzard Nemo. As I write, the blizzard is walloping the streets of New York.
Holmes and Yang’s new collection was discussed by Yang in a recent interview with People:
“Our customer is somebody who wants to be comfortable. You want to look good, but Katie and I always talk about this, it should never come at the cost of comfort.”
Holmes talked up the collection to theNew York Times, telling the newspaper the pair hoped “to make high-quality pieces that are simple enough, you can wear over and over again.”
