Christopher Meloni Signs On For ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’

Former Law & Order: SVU star Christopher Meloni has reportedly signed on for a role in directors Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.

After years of waiting and wondering, it would seem that the sequel to the 2005 hit is finally heading in front of the camera. In addition to adding The Dark Knight Rises alum Joseph Gordon-Levitt to the cast, Cinema Blend is reporting that Christopher Meloni has signed on to portray a cop in the film.

The actor bid farewell to the Law & Order universe in 2011. Shortly thereafter, Meloni agreed to appear on the erotic HBO vampire series True Blood. Now it would seem that the actor is looking to branch out into feature film territory once again.

Although the original Sin City came out over eight years ago, you wouldn’t know it from the buzz the sequel is receiving. In addition to Meloni and Gordon-Levitt, Rodriguez and Miller have a number of top-tier talent on-board to make the film a success.

Screen Rant explains that No Country For Old Men star Josh Brolin could also join the cast at some point down the line. Although details about his involvement are few and far between at this point, it would seem Brolin could be up for a significant role in the feature.

The website also reports that actor Dennis Haybert will tackle the role previously portrayed by the late, great Michael Clarke Duncan. The Man With the Iron Fists co-star Jamie Chung will replace Devon Aoki as Miho.

If everything falls precisely into place, then Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez hope to have Sin City: A Dame to Kill For in cinemas by October 4.

Christopher Meloni can be seen next in director Zack Snyder’s highly-anticipated Superman flick Man of Steel. That film is due out on June 14.
