The next gory installment of the popular horror franchise The Human Centipede will reportedly begin filming in the United States this May.
For those who have yet to take the plunge into what can only be described as one of the most unusual horror films in the past few years, the series follows the adventures of individuals who enjoy transforming people into centipedes. I’ll refrain from describing how this process works in order to keep this article as family friendly as possible.
According to Cinema Blend, The Human Centipede star Dieter Laser was due to return for the third installment in the franchise. However, Laser began demanding changes the film’s script, alterations that director Tom Six wasn’t willing to make. A breach of contract lawsuit was filed and the relationship started to sour.
However, the case has reportedly been dropped and production is now slated to begin next May. If rumors surrounding the project are true, then Six has a “major” American actor on-board for what is billed as the third and final entry in the series.
The director recently told Entertainment Weekly:
“I know my Human Centipede 3 will be very politically incorrect, but I didn’t want to change anything in the script. I am very happy Dieter will follow my vision for a full 100% now and know he is absolutely the most brilliant actor I could wish for.”
“I never ever would have thought that all our differences and misunderstandings would in the end lead to an even deeper and warmer understanding and appreciation of each other. In this regard I am actually thankful about the whole fuss because it turned out to be an advantage and a wonderful present for our film and for our friendship.”
Six’s master plan reportedly includes a 500 person human centipede, a feat that will certainly put him at odds with the MPAA here in the States should he pursue a theatrical release.
Are you a fan of the The Human Centipede series? Are you looking forward to what Tom Six has in store for audience with The Human Centipede 3?
