Britney Spears Getting Fired From ‘The X Factor’ [Report]
There could be another major shake up at the judge’s table on The X Factor. L.A. Reid recently announced that he was leaving the show, and now Britney Spears may be shown the door by Simon Cowell.
Us Weekly reports that Cowell is close to firing Spears from The X Factor.
A source told the magazine:
“Britney will get the boot. Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn’t working.”
The X Factor has seen a number of changes at the judges table since its premiere. Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, as well as host Steve Jones, were fired after the show’s first season. Demi Lovato and Britney Spears were brought in, but it looks like Cowell is still trying to find the right chemistry for the show.
According to the NY Daily News, the season finale of The X Factor this year was watched by 9.6 million viewers. That’s down 18 percent from the first season.
Cowell is reportedly disappointed with Spears’ performance on the show and doesn’t believe that she’s bringing her A-game to the judge’s table.
A source told US Weekly: “He wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney.”
But don’t feel too bad for Spears. The singer earned roughly $15 million for a brief one-year stint on the show.
