“Hi, this you on here?” Twitter Phishing Scam Hooks Unsuspecting Users

twitter phising scam

A new phishing scam that first appeared on Twitter earlier this week has continued to propagate, hooking unsuspecting Twitter users.

The scam targets users with the words “Hi, this you on here?” and offers a link via DM. The page linked to captures Twitter data, allowing the scammers to hijack the targets Twitter account and further propagate the scam.

The DM’s also come in from people you know as it’s spreading via account hijacking; even if you know the person sending the DM, think twice before clicking, and definitely don’t click on the link if the text before it reads “Hi, this you on here?”
