‘DWTS’ Weddings: Julianne Hough And Brooks Laich Have Fireworks In Idaho, Maks And Peta Get A Rainbow

The Dancing With the Stars double wedding weekend featured plenty of fireworks—and not just between the DWTS alums who had their weddings on the same day. As Dancing With the Stars judge Julianne Hough married Brooks Laich in a firework-filled fiesta in Idaho, longtime DWTS lovebirds Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd celebrated their wedding day in a castle on Long Island—with a rainbow in the background.

According to People, Julianne Hough wed hockey player Brooks Laich in an outdoor ceremony near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Saturday. The couple said their “I dos” in front of more than 200 guests after a weekend-long celebration that kicked off with a pre-wedding dinner at the Blackwell Hotel followed by a beach day on the lake at Coeur d’Alene Resort.

Julianne’s wedding weekend was designed by event planner Troy Williams. The bride wore a custom Marchesa gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, while the groom wore a Brooks Brothers tuxedo.

The wedding party included Julianne’s brother Derek Hough, who served as a groomsman, and Julianne and Brooks’ beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Lexi and Harley. The adorable dogs sported flowered collars for the ceremony and served as ring bearers.

Guests at the Hough-Laich wedding included close celebrity pals Nina Dobrev, Aaron Paul, and fellow DWTS pro dancer, Mark Ballas. After a dinner that featured Charcoal Braised Shortribs and Strawberry-Rhubarb Crisp, DJ Derek Monteiro provided music for the couple’s first dance, which took place on a custom-made antique mirror dance floor. The wedding was capped off with a massive fireworks display.

Meanwhile, Dancing With the Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd tied the knot on the same day in a lavish ceremony thousands of miles away at Oheka Castle on Long Island, New York. Social media pics and videos showed Peta being walked down the aisle on the arm of her father as Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite played. The bridal party included Maks’ brother Val Chmerkovskiy, who served as best man, and maid of honor Nicole Volynets Gamer, an ex-DWTS troupe member who also served as wedding planner. In addition, family friend Rumer Willis was a bridesmaid, while DWTS pros Tony Dovolani and Sharna Burgess were also in the wedding party. Maks and Peta’s 5-month-old son, Shai, was carried down the aisle as a pint-sized “prince of honor” at the wedding.

Other guests at the Chmerkovskiy-Murgatroyd wedding included Nyle DiMarco, Candace Cameron Bure, and DWTS pros Jenna Johnson and Alan Bersten.

Maks and Peta exchanged self-penned vows during a 40-minute non-denominational ceremony, according to Us Weekly, before 300 guests relocated to the main ballroom to enjoy a five-course meal and 15-person band.

As photos of the celebration streamed on social media, guest Nyle DiMarco captured the perfect fairytale shot. DiMarco captured a photo of Maks and Peta posing together moments after they tied the knot as a rainbow displayed above them.
