Christopher Maloney: I’m Hurt Because Simon Cowell Doesn’t Support Me

Christopher Maloney says he is “hurt” by the fact that X Factor judge Simon Cowell appears to be turning fans against Him. Maloney believes Cowell doesn’t want him to sign with his record label and will stop at nothing to see his plans go through.

Maloney’s claim appears to be backed up by Rylan Clark, who says executives on the show told staff and stars not to criticize Chris openly so he wouldn’t receive the “sympathy” vote.

Another insider tells the UK’s The Sun that negative reports about the former cruise ship singer were manipulated by Simon Cowell in order to damage Chris’ support.

According to Chris Maloney:

“It does hurt a little bit if Simon’s saying, ‘Don’t let them vote for me.”

Maloney adds:

“The general public; it’s their money and they can vote for who they like.”

When asked if he has been thinking about the X Factor (UK) finals round, Chris said:

“I am just trying to get through day by day and week by week … It’s the semi-final and I’m grateful to get there.”

If Chris Maloney survives the voting round this week, he will make it through to the X Factor finals, which will air live from Manchester.

Judges choosing to bias one singer against another is nothing new for reality TV shows; however, most contestants do not so adamantly speak out against judge preferences.

A big question on the X Factor now remains: Can Christopher Maloney gain the sympathy vote by claiming that he’s losing the sympathy vote?
