Erin Andrews has been dating hockey player Jarret Stoll since 2012, but as Us Weekly reports, they may be finally getting ready to plan a trip down the aisle. Close watchers of Andrews’ Twitter feed noted she posted a graphic of a Lambeau, Wisconsin, weather report, referencing her boyfriend and her own “ring game.” E! Online picked up on Emma Slater’s direct question to the Dancing with the Stars host: could she be engaged? Andrews answered with a series of heart emojis.
But it was former DWTS pro and Andrews’ partner when she was a Season 10 contestant, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who seemed to confirm that Andrews and Stoll were planning to tie the knot. Chmerkovskiy told a FOX 5 team that Andrews “maybe just got engaged.” He had just named Andrews as one of his favorite celebrity partners on the show. They came in third. He also had praise for Meryl Davis, with whom he won the competition in Season 18.
Jarret Stoll is an NHL player who twice won the Stanley Cup, in 2012 and 2014, as part of the New York Rangers hockey club. He contracted to attend the Columbus Blue Jackets training camp this past summer. As CBC News reported, he had a difficult fall as his nephew passed away in a car crash in September. Andrews took time off of Dancing with the Stars to provide him with support.

Chmerkovskiy noted to FOX 5 that his revelation of Andrews’ news was “payback,” since while mic’d backstage the host had accidentally revealed the pregnancy of his fiance Peta Murgatroyd on Dancing with the Stars. Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy got engaged last year, when, in dramatic style, he proposed to her onstage. Back in September, Extra reported on Murgatroyd’s emerging baby bump, 25 weeks into her pregnancy.
Andrews has long been open about wanting to have children and get married. In a Redbook profile from 2015, she compared herself to women she knew when she was younger and their current states in life. While fans of celebrity-ballroom dance pairings may know her best from DWTS, Andrews has also broken down barriers as a sports reporter. In the past, celebrities such as Leah Remini have filled in for Andrews while she covered the World Series for Fox.
“I happen to be one of those women who thinks it is possible to have it all. All of my friends from college and high school have three kids now. I’m not even engaged! I hope to have that, but look at what I’ve done: I’ve hopefully had a hand in opening the door for other women. I believe family is the next step.”
Maksim Chmerkovskiy was back in the ballroom during the most recent Dancing with the Stars season, along with other veterans Derek Hough and Cheryl Burke, who had all taken a break from the program. Maks and partner Amber Rose were the fifth to be eliminated. Murgatroyd, for the record, won Season 22, with activist and model Nyle DiMarco.
Chmerkovskiy said in October that he had “zero want” to return as a pro on DWTS, since he’ll have a newborn baby in his life. As Us Weekly reported, however, he still sung the show’s praises for its production value and its friendly people.
