Pippa Middleton Wedding Rumors: Have They Set The Date? Duchess Kate Possibly Doing A Reading

The wedding news and ongoing excitement and media headlines about Pippa Middleton’s engagement to James Matthews seemed to fade away over the last few weeks, but the anticipation for the nuptials of the two has been reignited with the news that a wedding date has officially been set and revealed.

Pippa had the attention of the world while she took on the role as maid of honor at the royal wedding for her sister, Duchess Kate Middleton, and Prince William, and now it’s Pippa’s turn to plan her own special day while taking the full spotlight. Exclusive details have been shared about Middleton’s dress, date, and location of the ceremony.

Us Weekly shared the latest about the wedding that is expected to be the most high-profile of 2017.

“Middleton, 33, and Matthews, 41, will wed on May 20, 2017, at the St Mark’s Englefield in Berkshire, a source tells Us. They’ve already sent the save the dates out, too. After the pair of two years walks down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. Matthews, guests will travel seven miles away to Carole and Michael Middleton’s home in Bucklebury for the reception. The party will be held in a luxury marquee in the garden, but the entire grounds of their home will be used.”

Although her sister Kate had the world watching as she walked down the lengthy aisle in 2011, Pippa’s ceremony will be an intimate family affair. Once Pippa and James became engaged this past summer, the concern turned to what role the duchess would play in her sister’s wedding, with experts noting that it would not be proper etiquette for Kate to be matron of honor to Pippa due to the risk of stealing the spotlight, the Sun explained. News has finally been made that Kate will likely be a part of the ceremony in a small way. A source spoke with the publication about the Duchess’ possible role.

“Princess Charlotte is going to be one of the flower girls,” the source continues. “They’re planning for Prince George to be a page boy. While Duchess Kate won’t be a bridesmaid, she’ll likely do a reading at the ceremony.”

Although there has not been official verification as to who will design the sure-to-be stunning gown, there is no question that Pippa, along with many celebrities, loves Giles Deacon, and the talented designer was spotted carrying garment bags into Middleton’s home recently. This has raised speculation that he will be creating the gown for the fitness enthusiast.

Back in September, Pippa Middleton paid a visit to Lavender Green florist in Chelsea London, where she viewed bridal bouquets and arrangements.

A second insider spoke about the occasion.

“She was inside looking at bridal bouquet mockups for an hour. Very chic, very classic. Think antique, ivory, and a twist like adding lace. She hasn’t picked the final look, but it was important to explore her options before going for bridal gown fittings. She took lots of photos on her phone and was really excited. She has a folder of magazine cuttings and pictures she has taken.”

The source went on to share that Pippa seems to be a very hands-on bride-to-be and had a “specific vision” for what she wanted. This isn’t surprising, seeing as Middleton is known for her party planning. Kate’s sister is about chic, sophistication, and a reasonable price tag on the entire affair, as the source notes.

“She doesn’t want it to be too expensive or look gaudy. Classic and elegant are two of the words she used to describe it.”

It is sure to be the wedding of 2017, and seeing as how the world won’t be able to view the occasion from their TV sets, fans and royal enthusiasts will have to settle for a few snaps after the fact.
