Hillary Victory Would Have Caused World War 3 Say Kremlin Officials

A senior Kremlin official has said that last week’s shock victory of Donald Trump in the U.S. election may have prevented the world from facing the terrors of a third world war.

Sergei Glazyev, who is an adviser for Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that had Hillary Clinton won the election, she would have led the world into diplomatic chaos and ultimately into war. Glazyev, a senior diplomat for the Kremlin, suggested that Americans had but two choice in their ballot paper to begin with: “World War 3 or Multilateral Peace.”

“Clinton was a symbol of war, and Trump has a chance to change this course.”

Donald Trump’s unprecedented victory in last week’s election has shaken U.S. & World Politics. It was well known that Moscow was in favor of the then Republican Presidential candidate, now the President-elect. Trump had even, under several occasions, declared his willingness in working closely with Moscow.

Another Kremlin official, aide to President Vladimir Putin, Vyacheslav Volodin also said that Russia was looking forward to the end of President Obama’s term and the beginning of that of President-elect Trump. Volodin pointed out that it was his belief that Trump could fix the “problems caused between the Kremlin and Washington” during President Obama’s tenure.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had sent a telegram to President-elect Donald Trump following his victory on Wednesday. In the telegram he had expressed his hope towards working together “to lift Russian-US relations from the state of crisis, as well as to address the pressing issues of the international agenda and the search for effective responses to global security challenges.” In a speech later that week, Putin reiterated his intention of improving the relationship between Russia and the U.S.

“Rebuilding relations will not be an easy path considering the unfortunate degradation of relations. But Russia is ready and wants to restore full-fledged relations with the US.”

But not everyone is happy with the prospect of Trump cozying up with Putin & the Kremlin. Many analysts believe that Putin wants Trump as his puppet. Former British Foreign Secretary, Lord Hague, has warned that Trump needs to stand his ground against Putin, saying that he and Kremlin are “unafraid to use aggression and intervention to shore up its influence.”

Severe tensions have been developing between the United States and Russia over the Russian military’s intervention in Syria. Putin’s officials had previously announced that they had foreseen an attack by the U.S. right after the two nations break off their faltering talks over the Syrian conflict. After the talks had been officially suspended earlier last month, Russia has been involved in several high-level military activities such as a massive nuclear warfare preparation drill for its citizens, moving nuclear-capable missiles near its Polish border, unveiling pictures of their new super-nuke, the Satan 2, conducting military exercises in the Nordic region and in former Soviet Union member Estonia, etc.

The world was getting dangerously close to seeing a global conflict and several independent analysts, both Russian and from the West, had raised concerns over the threat looming over the world.

A former White House expert on Russia, Andrew S. Weiss, had commented on the rising tensions between the U.S. and Russia.

“Cooperation over Syria was the Obama administration’s last and best shot for arresting the downward spiral in the bilateral relationship with Russia. The mistrust and hostility toward the United States by the Russian leadership is real and growing. It is going to be the driving force behind Russian external behavior for many years to come.”

In a rare interview, former Soviet statesman Mikhail Gorbachev has also spoken about the rising tensions between the two superpowers of the world.

“I think the world has reached a dangerous point. I don’t want to give any concrete prescriptions but I do want to say that this needs to stop. We need to renew dialogue. Stopping it was the biggest mistake.”
