Is Madonna’s Son Rocco Richie Really Telling Her To Date Idris Elba?

Rocco Ritchie really wants his mom Madonna to date Idris Elba. At least that’s what this week’s print issue of the National Enquirer wants you to believe. Gossip Cop summarizes their story.

“A headline in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer blares, ‘Son Picks Mate For Material Girl!’ According to the accompanying story, ‘Madonna’s teen son, Rocco Ritchie, is ready for some male Bond-ing! The rebellious 16-year-old, is steering his Material Girl mom toward Idris Elba!'”

The National Enquirer adds that Rocco thinks Idris would make the perfect stepdad. Rocco is allegedly sick and tired of Madonna’s younger boyfriends, who gross him out. However, as Gossip Cop points out in the same article, the story is bogus.

“Well, it’s actually the folks at the National Enquirer who should be red in the face for getting this story quite wrong. While the outlet claims the two hooked up, Elba very strongly denied the dating rumors on Twitter last month, bluntly tweeting, ‘Am I sleeping with Madonna? No motherf***ers… Don’t believe the Hype,'” points out columnist Shari Weiss, adding that last March, the National Enquirer actually wanted readers to believe that Madonna was going to adopt a baby after her custody battle with Rocco.

Speaking of Madonna, she certainly isn’t happy now that Donald Trump has been elected. The Queen of Pop has let it be known that she is a huge fan of Hillary Clinton, even joking about giving sexual favors to those who vote for her at an Amy Schumer concert last month. On a more serious note, Madonna performed a pop-up concert on the eve of the election to support Clinton. The Guardian reported on the event.

“For the astonished audience, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sing along with Madonna to some of her biggest hits, including “Don’t Tell Me” and “Like a Prayer” – but her cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine” was the crowning moment: a cathartic sense of unity ahead of the next day’s uncertainty.”

The article added that throughout the performance, earnest speeches about love were intertwined with Madonna’s careful sense of humor.

Madonna’s fans took to twitter to praise the Queen of Pop for her unusual show.

For those who missed Madonna’s free pop-up concert in New York City, they can pay a lot of money to see her perform a special show in Miami next month. Metro has the news.

“Madonna is charging fans as much as $150,000 (over £115K) to see her perform in Miami this December. However the Material Girl, 58, can justify the high price tag as it is all in the name of charity. Madonna is the star performer at Art Basel Miami at Faena Forum on December 2nd with her show acting as a benefit for her Raising Malawi charity.”

This has certainly been a big year for Madonna. Although she spent much of the first half of the year on the wrong side of the headlines due to her child custody battle, Madonna broke touring records, performed a Prince tribute, and was recently named “Woman of the Year” by Billboard.

As Billboard explained when they made the announcement, Billboard’s president and chief creative officer, Janice Min, believes that with Madonna’s creative vision, relentless innovation, and dedication to helpful societal causes, she is an inspiration to many. Min especially likes that Madonna has been an important feminist who has used her influence to change the conversation around women, sexuality, and equal rights.

Madonna perceives Donald Trump to be anti-woman, so you can bet you will hear a lot of feminist messages from the Queen of Pop over the next year. Despite many people wishing she would just “retire” and “go away,” Madonna’s presence in the pop culture world is just as relevant as ever, although she probably wishes she really was dating Idris Elba.
