‘Destiny’ Weekly Reset For Nov. 8, Aksis Challenge, Iron Banner, And A Hot Fix

The Festival of the Lost has concluded in Destiny and its time for PS4 and Xbox One players to hang up their Halloween masks and pull out their best gear for Iron Banner. The monthly Crucible event will go live later today, but not before Bungie releases a new Hot Fix patch. Meanwhile, the Wrath of the Machine Raid received a second Challenge mode for players to undertake.

Destiny will be updated to version 2.4.1.1 today when the Hot Fix patch is made available to download at 12:30 p.m. ET / 9:30 a.m. PT. Iron Banner will then begin at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT. Expect a separate post with full details on the event, but Bungie confirmed chest armor and boots will be on sale from Lady Efrideet along with the new Iron Banner Pulse Rifle and Machine Gun.

Some of the details shared of the Destiny Hot Fix patch include the previously previewed changes to the Silver economy plus a Crucible Map fix, quality of life changes, and more, per Bungie’s Twitter feed.

The second and final Wrath of the Machine challenge is now live too. What is known just a couple of hours after the challenge went live is the raid fireteam needs to slam Aksis with a discharge every time he teleports. This requires having multiple fireteam members “supercharged” and good communication so everyone knows where the boss is teleporting to next.

Nightfall — Blighted Chalice

Ocean of Storms, Moon: A blight of Taken now roosts In the Hellmouth. Unchecked, they could refocus the Darkness within and descend on the City.

Modifiers

• Epic — Heavily shielded and highly aggressive enemies appear in great numbers.
• Berserk — Minions of the Darkness won’t flinch, even after massive damage.
• Small Arms — Primary Weapon damage is favored.
• Fresh Troops — Some enemy squads have been fortified with additional reinforcements.
• Match Game — Enemy shields are resistant to all unmatched Elemental Damage.

Weekly SIVA Crisis Heroic Strikes

Modifiers

• Heroic — Enemies appear in greater numbers and are more aggressive.
• Solar Burn — Solar damage from any source is greatly increased.
• Specialist — Special Weapon damage is favored.
• Juggler — No ammo drops for your equipped weapon.

Challenge of Elders

Modifiers

• Airborne — Players deal more damage while in the air.
• Berserk — Minions of the Darkness won’t flinch, even after massive damage.
• Super Kill Bonus — Super kills are worth more points.

Bounties

• Shadow Boxer — Use Void abilities to kill enemies in Level 41 Prison of Elders or Challenge of the Elders.
• Impressive Performance — Earn points in Challenge of the Elders.
• Close Still Counts — Use grenades to kill enemies in Level 41 Prison of Elders or Challenge of the Elders.

King’s Fall Raid Challenge Mode — Oryx (Guide)

The Destiny King’s Fall Raid challenge caps off this week with special conditions to beat Oryx. The Challenge mode condition is that players must detonate 16 Blight bombs at the same time to bring Oryx’s health down from full to almost zero.

The rewards for Normal Mode are a guaranteed 320 Helmet or Primary Weapon, 320 Artifact, and a Calcified Fragment. The Hard mode loot is the same as normal, plus a 330 Helmet or Primary Weapon, a 330 Artifact, Emblem, and a new Ship.

Court of Oryx (Guide) — Tier 3: Thalnok

This mini-Crota boss plays similar to the final Dark Below Raid encounter in Destiny, with a couple of twists. It will require teamwork as well. Like Crota, the only way to kill Thalnok is to bring his shields down to force him to kneel while a player whacks him with a sword dropped by a Knight.
