Look Who’s Mad At Iggy Azalea Now

Type in the words “beef” and “Iggy Azalea” into google and see the laundry list of celebrities that have a gripe against the Australian rapper. Those names include Q-Tip, Snoop Dogg, T.I. and most notably Azealia Banks.

And now, after an appearance on the morning show Sunrise, you can add former American Idol standout Adam Lambert and Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian to the list.

Speaking on the Australian morning show, Lambert offered this backhanded compliment about Azalea. “To be honest with you, I have no personal issue with Iggy. She and I have found some common ground. But she is quite a diva.”

Adam didn’t stop there, elaborating on his comment further.

“She shows up late, you never know what you’re going to get with her. It is never boring. I will tell you that. There were couple of times where I was like, ‘Girl, where the hell are you?'”

Guy Sebastian, another judge on the series, also lodged similar “diva” complaints at Iggy Azalea, as reported by the Daily Mail.

“We’re just not similar people at all and I definitely have to bite my tongue. I’ve said a lot of things in my head.”

The article also suggested there was potential beef between Iggy and former Spice Girl Mel B., but that rumor was quashed as it’s definitely Guy and Iggy that are constantly at odds on the show.

“The constant feuding between them was incredibly evident during Guy’s three seat challenge, where he needed to whittle his team down to just three contestants,” the article read. “With every choice he made, Iggy found herself yelling at the “Battle Scars” hit maker to tell him he was wrong.”

And as previously mentioned this wouldn’t be the first time Iggy Azalea has come to have beef with a fellow musician. She famously got into it with rapper Azealia Banks’ via Twitter, as reported by Us Weekly, after Banks claimed Azalea was responsible for appropriating black culture with her music. Several of hip-hop’s most famous faces, including Snoop Dogg and Q-Tip, then joined in, slamming Azalea for the same claim: co-opting rap and selling it to white America. She was even targeted at the BET awards in November 2015 by R&B icon Erykah Badu, as reported by the Mirror, who said, “What you’re doing is definitely not rap.”

Badu wasn’t the only one to throw shade her way during that particular awards show either. Nicki Minaj famously said in her acceptance speech during the 2014 BET Awards: “What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it,” a direct insult at Iggy, as reported by TIME. What Minaj was addressing through her speech was the rumor that Azalea’s mentor T.I. was responsible for most of her lyrics, a claim he and Azalea have both refuted.

It didn’t help, as reported by USA Today, that Iggy was inept when it came to free-styling when she was live on the radio back in late 2014, only further fueling the rumor.

“Iggy refused to freestyle to any of the ‘hood… beats’ the DJs were playing and chose to do it acapella,” the article stated. “Which is fine and all — if she wasn’t just spitting the lyrics to her song… Iggy’s poor excuse for free-styling caught the attention of Twitter and Tumblr, whose users have made fun of it relentlessly.”

What do you think? Is Iggy Azalea a diva? Does she deserve the hate from the hip-hop community?
