Joy Behar Calls Kellyanne Conway ‘Delusional’ On ‘The View’ Citing Donald Trump’s ‘Off The Wall Nuclear Codes Rhetoric’

Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, appeared on the daytime talk show The View on Wednesday morning to talk polls, rigged elections, and nuclear codes. When she did, it resulted in some very “spirited” conversations, according to Kellyanne’s own tweets after the fact. Entertainment Weekly reports those conversations ultimately led to one host of The View, Joy Behar, telling Kellyanne she thought she was being delusional.

That conversation was related to Kellyanne’s depiction of Donald Trump’s possible usage of the nuclear codes. But it was not just Joy Behar that Kellyanne was spirited with. She got into it a little bit with The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg about Trump’s claims the election was rigged and the media was crooked, reports New York Magazine.

The segment started off with a light topic, the polls. Kellyanne said she loves the polls and that the ABC News polls are always “our favorite.” A new ABC News/Washington Post tracking poll, she said, had Donald Trump in a slight lead. That national poll formerly had Donald Trump ahead by one point, but now actually has Hillary Clinton ahead by two points nationally, reports ABC News.

Donald Trump, however, did have a one-point lead in that poll on October 30, and once in May, reports ABC News. The outlet reports that Trump does have a lead in the enthusiasm of voters by 7 points but is no longer ahead overall in the ABC News poll cited by Kellyanne Conway yesterday.

When Kellyanne told ABC’s The View hosts that the ABC News/Washington Post tracker poll was “our favorite poll,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg interrupted her saying, “Wait, didn’t you say the polls were rigged?” reports New York Magazine.

Conway says she wouldn’t ever say that because she loves the polls.

But Whoopi Goldberg was not going to let her off the hook that easy.

Whoopi said, “Actually your man did say that. Your man said for a while that the polls were rigged. I’m just saying that’s what he said.”

Whoopi also reminded Kellyanne of those times Donald Trump called the media crooked, to which Kellyanne responded, “Not all.”

Whoopi was not letting that one off the hook either.

“And you love the media now too, yes? You remember when he said we were all crooked?”

When Kellyanne tried to interrupt her to correct Whoopi on that, Whoopi said to an audience of cheers, “What have you been watching?”

Then, Whoopi clarified her position.

“He said, the media is crooked, the polls are crooked, everything was crooked, and now he’s doing better because they’re neck-and-neck. And I’m just wondering, will it be crooked again if he slips in the polls? Are we back to crooked?”

Kellyanne Conway responded by saying the hosts should have him back on the show and ask “president-elect Donald Trump” themselves. Whoopi Goldberg responded by saying,

“I don’t care if he comes back on the show. I’ve been very clear about that, I’ve been very clear about that. We’ve asked him. And let me tell you something, he’s been very nasty about people I care about.”

It wasn’t just a conversation with Whoopi Goldberg where things got spirited on The View yesterday. Joy Behar had her say and got plenty of cheers from the audience as well when asking Kellyanne about Donald Trump and nuclear codes.

Joy Behar reminded Kellyanne of all of the times they had to hide under the desks at school for nuclear drills. Behar also said she never brought her library books back in school because she thought she wouldn’t have to if there was a nuclear strike, which received laughter from the audience. But she turned serious when asking Kellyanne about “your guy” and his “cavalier attitude towards using nuclear weapons,” reports Entertainment Weekly.

Behar said, “Aren’t you petrified? You have four children. That scares me more than any other stupid thing he has said.”

Kellyanne tried to turn the tables to slam Hillary Clinton, but Joy Behar would not let her. Kellyanne also did that on Twitter yesterday.

Kellyanne accused Joy Behar of “cherry-picking” Donald Trump’s statements on the nuclear codes.

Joy Behar responded, “I think his rhetoric is off the wall on this topic.”

This statement brought cheers from the audience as well.

Joy Behar tried to clarify Kellyanne’s position for Donald Trump on nuclear codes.

“What, he doesn’t mean it, what? What do you think? Is his rhetoric reckless?”

Kellyanne said, “No.”

Joy Behar reminded Kellyanne of the time Donald Trump said, “What’s the point of having them [nuclear codes] if you don’t use them?”

Joy asked, “What kind of talk is that? That’s outrageous.”

Kellyanne tried to answer but fumbled a little.

At this point, Joy Behar said, “You know, I like you. I like you. But I think right here you are being delusional.”

This led to some cheers from the audience as well, and Joy Behar clarified two times that she thought Kellyanne was a “nice Italian girl,” but “she scares me when she thinks this.”

Kellyanne did try to turn the tables again against Hillary Clinton and was met with boos from the audience for this.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Whoopi Goldberg also said at one point during the interview, “Donald Trump has lost more money than most of us will ever make in our lifetime. I just want to know what his actual plan is.”
